Having your meals the same time every day regulates and controls the internal signals of satiety ,appetite and hunger.Health is greatly injured by overeating and eating at improper times. This diminishes the blood to the brain .The mind becomes a little dull in decision taking. Also according to Dr. Melmet a cardiologist, when meals are eaten at different times rather than on a regular schedule, your body goes into "a stress mode"example, when you eat breakfast at 7 am one morning and 11 am the next, your body becomes confused about when its next meal is coming. This causes the secretion of the stress hormone cortisol. High.High levels of cortisol leads to spikes in insulin which causes inflammation and can increase the risk of many cancers. In one research, test subjects were given regular meals for two weeks and then irregular meals for another two weeks.Below are some of the advantages found when people ate at regular mealtimes versus irregular mealtimes :

  • A lower energy intake for the day
  • More calories burned following their meal(thermogenesis)
  • Lower total and LDL cholesterol  levels
  • Lower peak insulin levels and lower overall insulin response
All of these benefits can effortlessly help maintain a healthy weight, improve cholesterol levels and improve insulin levels which will have a positive impact on your health.
If we would form habits of regularity and order ,we would improve in health, mental attitude ,in memory and in disposition. This is for our own good both physically and morally.
Snacking between meals also destroys the healthful tone of the digestive organs to the detriment of health and cheerfulness .
Even though  life activities and events intervenes when it comes to routine ,create a regular meal schedule and do your very best to stick to it.BUT REMEMBER THAT GOOD HEALTH IS A CONTINUOUS HABIT NOT AN EVENT.
