LIMIT THAT HABIT OF EATING JUST BEFORE SLEEPING

We re not nocturnal animals, when we sleep, our entire metabolism slows down .The reclining person causes the weight of the internal organs to press against the very large nerve trunks on each side of the spinal column and shuts off the mechanism that keeps the digestive system working. When you lie down at night ,the stomach must have finished all its digestion so it can join the rest of the body in resting but if you eat just before you sleep, the digestive organs will be working through out the night. such sleep is often disturbed and in the morning you wake up un-refreshed .
Many indulge in the pernicious habit of eating just before retiring even after taking their regular meals simple because they may feel a little faint or hungry .By indulging in this practice it soon becomes a habit and when it becomes a habit to eat before sleeping, the digestive organs loose their natural vigor and the person becomes a miserable dyspeptic. Eating late at night has also been known to cause severe heart burn.
If you feel that you must eat at night, take a drink of cold water instead and in the morning you will feel much better for not having eaten
Here are a few simple tips on evening meals.:
Eat about three hours before going to bed. Your last meal should try and consist of mainly lean protein or low calorie fibrous carbohydrate like vegetables and fruits and starchy carbohydrates like bread, pastas potatoes etc. should as much as possible be avoided close to bedtime.
BUT REMEMBER GOOD HEALTH IS A CONTINUOUS HABIT NOT AN EVENT
